When the body is not respected

➡️ 22.3% of participants reported unwanted or inappropriate physical contact at least once.

➡️ 15.8% reported that someone had exposed private parts of their body in front of them.

The coaches who participated in the qualitative research themselves acknowledged that practices once considered “normal” in sport are now recognised as boundary violations. One Greek coach described it vividly:

“In my generation, in the 1990s, we used to celebrate by touching each other on the buttocks. That does not happen now; and if it did, I believe it would be condemned.”

The context is changing. Coach education must keep pace.
